What counts as Hospitality, accommodation and tourism

This industry consists of divisions 55 (accommodation) and 56 (food and beverage service activities), plus tour operators and travel agencies from division 79. Private rooms let without a business licence are not captured by business statistics.

A company and its premises are not the same thing. One company can run several restaurants in different towns; the export contains the company with its registered office, and premises addresses only where the source lists them.

Premises in the trade licensing register

Restaurants and accommodation operate under a trade licence. The register shows premises, not contacts.

Trade licensing register
It also records business premises with their address. It holds no contact details for the premises; phone numbers and email addresses come from websites, directories and map data.
Commercial register
Hotels and larger restaurants are usually limited companies. The name of the premises (for example the restaurant name) often differs from the registered company name.
Map and directory sources
In hospitality, map data and directories provide the most contacts. We state the source and date for every contact so that you can show where it was published.

Not in the export

  • number of seats, rooms or beds
  • accommodation category and stars
  • opening hours and menus
  • guest reviews
  • names of outlet managers

These 17 columns are included.

Seasonality and frequent changes

In hospitality, premises open and close faster than elsewhere, and they often move or change hands. The source date of each contact helps you decide which records to check again before a campaign.

In tourist areas (the High Tatras, Liptov, spa towns) many accommodation providers are seasonal. Time your outreach for when they are open.

Only if the provider is a registered business with a published contact. Private accommodation without a business licence is not in the company database.

If the operator has published an email address as a business contact, § 116(15) of Act No. 452/2021 Coll. allows direct marketing without prior consent, with an opt-out in every message. Details: B2B outreach and § 116.
