Public company data can identify sole traders, self-employed farmers, shareholders or statutory representatives and may therefore be personal data. This information explains the processing in the company database; the fact that data is publicly available does not mean it may be reused without restriction.
The controller of the database is Martin Adamec. Contact details are given below. No data protection officer has been appointed.
Depending on the source and the agreed export: business name, IČO, tax ID and VAT ID, legal form, registered office or place of business, SK NACE activity code, published business phone number, email address and website, and for every contact its source and source date. A sole trader’s place of business may also be their home address. We do not process special categories of personal data and do not offer data for decisions on consumer creditworthiness.
The data comes from public sources: the open data of the Register of Legal Entities (licence CC BY 4.0), the lists of the Slovak Financial Administration, the commercial and trade registers, lists of professional chambers and authorities, business directories, open map data (Overture Maps, OpenStreetMap) and company websites where businesses publish it themselves. The sources are described on the data sources and methodology page. We will tell you the source of a specific item on request.
The purpose is to organise company information and to supply agreed exports to businesses for market analysis, master data management and lawful business contact, including direct marketing to the published contacts of businesses. Buying an export is neither consent to marketing nor proof of reachability. The data is not used for solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
The legal basis is legitimate interests under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: the interest of the controller and its customers in reliable company information. Necessity and the impact on data subjects are assessed by source, fields and use; public availability alone does not decide this. Safeguards are data minimisation, limiting contacts to published ones, excluding shared addresses, correction, objection and blocking. To be completed: a written legitimate interests assessment.
Recipients may be businesses that buy an export, limited to the agreed fields, necessary hosting and IT providers, professional advisers and competent authorities. Customers have their own information, security and data subject obligations.
Exporting or accessing personal data outside the European Economic Area requires an assessment under the GDPR and an appropriate transfer mechanism. You can ask about a specific transfer.
Records are kept only for as long as necessary and lawful, taking into account the currency of the source, changes, objections and legal obligations. Outdated or unnecessary personal data is corrected or removed. A minimal record of an objection is kept so that the data is not included again. To be completed: a specific retention period for dissolved entities.
You have the right of access, to information about the source, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation, and to direct marketing without giving reasons (Art. 21(2) GDPR); such use then ends. Use the objection form or write to us. We usually reply within one month.
You can lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic or another competent supervisory authority, including in the state where you live or work; the lead supervisory authority for the controller is the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection.
Where Art. 14 GDPR applies, the data subject must be informed within a reasonable period, at the latest within one month, or earlier at the first communication or disclosure. Any exception needs a documented legal basis. To be completed: the lawyer will assess whether, and for which groups, the exception in Art. 14(5)(b) GDPR applies and whether publishing this information is sufficient.
This information will be updated if sources, purposes or processing change materially. The current version date is shown above.
