Official statistics: 11,009 businesses in Slovakia according to Eurostat, structural business statistics (sbs_ovw_act) (reference year 2024, data as of 30 September 2026). Section P education (division 85). Schools set up by the state or a municipality are part of public administration and may not be counted as businesses in their own right; individual schools are listed in the register of schools. This is the size of the market, not the size of our database.
This industry corresponds to section P of the SK NACE classification (education). It includes state, municipal, church and private schools that have their own legal personality, and companies that provide courses and training.
Schools without legal personality are part of their founder (for example a municipality) and have no IČO of their own. When selecting schools we therefore also use the register of schools, not only the SK NACE code.
| SK NACE | Classification title | For your selection |
|---|---|---|
| 85.1 | Pre-primary education | nursery schools |
| 85.2, 85.3 | Primary and secondary education | primary and secondary schools |
| 85.4 | Higher education | universities |
| 85.5 | Other education | language, music and sports courses, driving schools (85.53) |
| 85.6 | Educational support activities | advice and services for schools |
The state records schools and school facilities in separate registers. Schools with legal personality are also in the Register of Legal Entities.
These 17 columns are included.
Purchases by schools are often decided by the founder (municipality, self-governing region, church), not the school itself. If you offer investment in buildings or equipment, consider also reaching the founders under Municipalities and public institutions.
Private training providers (language schools, training companies) are companies or sole traders and make their own purchasing decisions.
We supply interactive whiteboards and are looking for primary and secondary schools (SK NACE 85.2 and 85.3) in the Prešov and Košice regions with a published email address. How many records can you supply, and how do you handle schools without their own IČO?
